Maximilian’s teaching focuses on all aspects of civil law, intellectual property law (especially patent law), competition law and on mediation. At Freiburg University Law School, Maximilian teaches courses on contract and tort law and on domestic, European and international patent and technology law, copyright law and competition law. He also conducts mediation workshops. Maximilan has held a number of visiting or honorary positions.
He has taught international IP and competition law at CEIPI in Strasbourg, at National Law School in Bangalore, at NJUS Law School at Kolkata and at NALSAR Law School in Hyderabad. In 2020 he will teach a course on international and European patent law at Georgetown. Maximilian has given presentations on various patent law subjects at conferences across Germany, Switzerland, India, China, Korea, Japan and the United States.
